Newest Disney Fan

OK, so that might be a LITTLE premature, but since I'm now pregnant with my first child, I am looking at Disney in a different light, the light of a child! I can't wait for my little one to get here so that I can start planning our first trip to Disney as a family!

When I announced on facebook that I am with child, a dear friend asked when the baby's first trip to Disney would be, and believe me, it's being "planned" in my head. Here's my conundrum, I REALLY wanted my next trip to the World to be an EPCOT only kind of trip. My husband and I wanted to go to Walt Disney World during the Food and Wine festival, get the deluxe dinning plan and pretty much snack our way around the world! With a little one on the way, I'm not sure that's as possible as it was before. My first thought is, bring it on; we'll go with our "Bean" is small enough that they won't know/care about their first trip to Disney; but then I remember MY first trip to Disney World and that I was only 13 months old...and I remember parts of that trip vividly, so would doing my EPCOT for a week trip, ruin my baby's perspective of Disney? That's my question...now I need advice, what do you all think?

Favorites

So I have said that I love all things Disney, and I really do...but I have a problem; when people ask me what is my favorite thing about Disney I draw a blank! I mean really, how does one pick just ONE thing that is my favorite thing about something as wonderful as Disney? I can't, I've tried and it's just not possible! I can't even narrow it down very well! For example I don't have one favorite Disney movie...I have to break it down into "types" of movies; and rides...don't get me started!

So I figured I'd start a list of things that I love about Disney, here goes! I'll start with movies, if I can!!

Classic Cartoon: Robin Hood
"New" Classic Cartoon: Beauty and the Beast
Classic Live Action: The Happiest Millionaire
New Live Action: Princess Diary
Musical: Mary Poppins (but man, oh man...Newsies is a CLOSE second!!)
Pixar: nearly impossible, I love them all; but it's pretty much a tie between Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.
Obscure Movie: Summer Magic...pretty sure I'm the ONLY one who likes it, but it's one of my favorites!

That being said, what are YOUR favorite Disney movies? Answer, answer one and all!!!

Confessions of an Addict

I've been home from Walt Disney World now for 8 months, and I've got it again. That itch to go back and visit my friends at "the World"! There is SO much going on there and so much updating that I've promised myself I'll wait until the Fantasy Land update is done to visit. But wait, that isn't done until 2014??? NOOOOO...HOW am I going to wait that long? I just have no clue!

This last time that we went to Disney, I promised my husband that the next couple of vacations where his to plan, so I have to wait, right? I mean; I'M the Disney nut, not him right? He wanted to take a cruise so next year we are embarking on our first ever cruise, and I'm super excited about it. I WANT to take a cruise, but secretly, I wanted it to be a Disney cruise! However, that cruise is a bit out of our budget this time around, so we'll take a "normal" cruise and I'll continue to dream of being at Disney World!

The last couple of times that we visited WDW, we had the dinning plan, and I have to say...I LOVE THE DINNING PLAN! For the first time in my life I've eaten WELL at Disney, and had so much fun in the process! In fact, that was the first sign of my "needing" to go back. My favorite breakfast meal while we were there was 1900 Park Fare, in the Grand Floridan. Not only was this a character breakfast where I got to meet Marry Poppins (my favorite live action Disney character ever!!!) but I had the best oatmeal and bread pudding for breakfast! I am one of those weird people who really love those two dishes, and it's hard to find a good bread pudding in Oklahoma City, OK! As I sit and eat my instant oatmeal at work, I dream of a better oatmeal, among "friends" who speak with a fake British accent. Isn't life grand when you get to speak with a fake British accent? hee hee.

All this to say that I miss spending time in WDW,a lot, and I didn't think I would this time. It had only been two years since my last visit and nothing much had changed. I figured that I'd be content until all of the expanding was done...turns out that isn't so much the case. I'm an addict. Hi, my name is Julie and I'm addicted to Disney (go ahead, say it...Hi, Julie.) and there is only one cure for it...GO TO DISNEY! Sigh, so I guess I'll be having that addict itch for awhile. Well I can always live through the Disney Blog and Disney movies right? It's going to be a long several years for me!

Fun with the Mouse - updated with pictures; since the Font didn't work!

So I was wondering around on the Internet the other day and I found this site, MickeyAvenue.com, that has tons of fonts that you see in and around Disneyland as well as Disney World Resorts. I have been trying to figure out how to load them onto my computer. I've figured out how to temporally make them appear on my word documents and wanted to try and test the theory online. So my mission here is to put something here, and see if I can get it to publish and STILL look like Mickey Mouse. OH, by the way, the font is called mickey mousebats! It's super cute! Here goes nothing, of course I need everyones help to tell me if they can see Mickey Mouse or if they just see colorful capital letters! I NEED YOUR HELP PEOPLE!! :-)

B this is my favorite one!

P but i've always been a fan of the classics too!

So let me know what it is you see and I'll see if I can make it publish correctly! Thanks for playing my "fun with the Mouse" game today! :-)

The love

I confess, I'm in love with Disney.

Most women love jewlery, or chocolate, or expensive things, but not me...I love Disney.

My poor husband knows this, and even somewhat embraces it as well. I like all things Disney: new, old, parks, movies, shows, I love it all! I've been to the parks several times and watch the movies/shows as much as I can. I just can't seem to get enough.

When I'm board at work, I check what I like to call the Disney "rumor weeds" instead of surfing the net, when I'm feeling down, I think of random Disney quotes to cheer me up. In fact, I've made up one of my own..."There is a Disney quote for everything, and for everything there is a Disney quote." yup, not beautiful, but true! That's me, I'm the Disney freak.

My family knows this, and most understand it, my sister loves Disney too, but I'm just not sure she's reached my ultimate freak status yet, but I could be wrong. My parents know Disney movies, purely because they have to know which ones NOT to get me...and best of all, my husband has mentioned that I should decorate our kitchen in DISNEY!!!

Yes folks, I'm living the dream, the Disney dream. :-)
